Schwarzwald

The Black Forest, originally known as Schwarzwald, is located in the southwestern part of Germany's Baden-Württemberg state. It is the largest forest mountain range in Germany. In a broader sense, it stretches from Heidelberg to the Swiss border and is considered part of the forested region. The Black Forest is characterized by dense forests, predominantly covered with fir and spruce trees, giving it a dark appearance from a distance. Additionally, a portion of the forest is designated for economic purposes, hence the name "Black Forest." Based on the density of tree distribution, the Black Forest is divided into three parts: Northern Black Forest, Central Black Forest, and Southern Black Forest. The Black Forest is famous for its cuckoo clocks, Black Forest cake, Black Forest ham, honey, and more.
