Gourmet Curry Bon Goût NEWoMan Shinjuku: Indulge in Unique Black Curry Rice

"Gourmet Curry Bon Goût" located at the south exit of JR Shinjuku Station is a spacious and comfortable curry restaurant. Their beef curry omelette rice and crab meat croquettes are delicious, especially their black curry sauce which is amazingly tasty.

On the day of leaving Shinjuku, the hot pot restaurant we planned to eat at was not yet open and the storefront didn’t look too clean, so we decided to change restaurants. At that moment, I was really craving curry, so I searched for Shinjuku curry on Google Maps and found this place called “Gourmet Curry Bon Goût” that looked really delicious and had high ratings. After actually eating there, I thought it was so delicious that I couldn’t believe no one had written about it online yet, so I’ll be the first!

【Transportation】Where is Gourmet Curry Bon Goût located?

  • Address: 2F Exosto, NEWoMan Shinjuku, 4-1-6 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo
  • Business hours: 11:00~22:00

The Gourmet Curry Bon Goût branch at Shinjuku Station is located on the 2nd floor of “NEWoMan” near the south exit of Shinjuku. Although it says 2F, it is not inside a building or mall. The entrance is on the street side, and you can see it when you cross the street from Lumine 2 to “NEWoMan”. You don’t have to go inside the mall, it’s right next to the delicious 800° Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria that I introduced before.

【Gourmet Curry Bon Goût】Menu

Gourmet Curry Bon Goût is a curry specialty store, and each dish on the menu is presented with a picture, making it easy for people to find their favorite flavor at a glance.

The menu is quite classic Japanese curry restaurant style, with options like pure curry with meat and rice, cola cake, omelette with rice, and more. Just choose according to your preferences. There are also many options for adding other toppings at an additional cost.

【Gourmet Curry Bon Goût】Dining Environment

Gourmet Curry Bon Goût has a very Japanese family-style restaurant feel to it, with sofas for four people, tables for two, and a bar area. Although there are quite a few seats, if you come during meal times, you’ll usually have to wait in line.

There are various seasonings on the table, which can be used according to personal preferences.

After being seated, a refreshing drink will be served.

【Gourmet Curry Bon Goût】Side Dishes

Gourmet Curry Bon Goût’s curry rice comes with a side dish. Both Xiao V and I chose one each. The salad is a Japanese-style Western meal salad.

Butter potatoes are quite special, and most Japanese people also prefer them. However, I don’t really like their potatoes because they lack the delicate Japanese style.

【美食咖喱Bon Goût】混合牛肉咖喱

My friend Xiao V and I have never been big fans of meat patties made from ground meat, so we ordered beef chunks instead. I also heard that their cola cake is really good, so I chose a dish that comes with it.

After being served, the curry sauce, which is the same as the dark green curry sauce commented by netizens, is a very black curry, but the taste is not so salty, but just right with a Japanese Western-style flavor, delicious to the point of explosion! Then the crab croquette is also super powerful. Japanese croquettes are already delicious, and their fried skills are of course excellent, but what’s even more amazing is the richness of the crab filling, making people want to eat another one!

【美食咖喱Bon Goût】Omlett & Beef Curry

I love to eat omurice when I come to Japan. The one ordered by Little V is beef with omlette, which is similar to CoCo Ichibanya’s omurice. However, the curry still has the unique flavor of Gourmet Curry Bon Goût. I truly believe that their strongest point is their curry. How can someone make curry so delicate and multi-layered in flavor!

Summary

Tokyo is truly a city that never ceases to surprise people. You can easily find a delicious restaurant in Shinjuku that will amaze you. From now on, whenever I want to eat curry in Shinjuku, I will only come to “Gourmet Curry Bon Goût”!
