Belle’s admirers assemble! To mark the end of 2020, Tokyo Disneyland took the world by storm with its latest launch of the new Beauty And The Beast area. This is part of the theme park’s Fantasyland, cheering hardcore Disney fans all over Asia using cutting-edge animating technology in a life-size castle full of colors.

If this is your first time venturing out to this iconic gem, check out this ultimate travel guide to Tokyo Disneyland’s Beauty And The Beast where I reveal all the best tips about timing, essential travel pass, and what to see inside the castle.

But first, here’s a lowdown on what this enchanting fairytale land has to offer.

Tokyo Disneyland’s Beauty And The Beast area is broken down into several smaller spaces. The main happening here centers around the Beast’s castle. This is where you find a large playground in the lobby with rotating cups where families and kids are taken to each chapter of the story and get to meet all the famous characters along the way.

Next up, we have Gaston’s Tavern Restaurant, a popcorn shop, an indoor theater, and a souvenir spot not too far away from the castle’s gate.

Without further ado, let’s dive right in to see what this area has in store for you!

Tokyo Disneyland’s Beauty And The Beast Location

  1. Village Shops:Animated Scene-based Countryside Style Shops
  2. Gaston’s Tavern Restaurant
  3. Beauty and the Beast Castle: “Beauty and the Beast Magic Story” Attractions
  4. Fantasyland Forest Theatre: Large Indoor Theatre

The whole complex including the Beast’s Castle, the theater, popcorn vendor, souvenir shop, and Gaston’s Tavern Restaurant is located within the Fantasyland of Tokyo Disneyland. Meanwhile, the rest of the ground is a dreamy theme park converted into Belle’s Village. The village is then connected to the castle via a long, beautiful walkway with forests and gardens as well as plenty of scenic spots for pictures.

One of my favorite spots to soak in the whimsical atmosphere of the castle is around the bridge that leads to the castle’s gate. Gusts of smoke dance beneath the bridge and creep over the faux boulders, creating a tantalizing effect to treat your eyes on the way in.

What To Know Before Visiting Tokyo Disneyland’s Beauty And The Beast?

The Pink Castle is where you’ll find the Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, a trackless dark ride. The queue time to enter the castle can be quite long. To make the wait more convenient, you can download the Tokyo Disney Resort app and register your check-in time for the Beast’s Castle ride. The app offers Disney Premier Access, allowing you to select a designated time slot in advance and reduce your wait time.

Please keep in mind that Disney Premier Access has limited availability. It’s highly recommended to check the app for availability and book your slot as soon as possible. If you don’t have a reservation, you may need to wait for more than 90 minutes to queue directly on the site to get in.. During peak seasons, the line can stretch from the main gate all the way to the castle entrance.

What Is There To Do At Beauty and the Beast’s Castle?

First of all, let’s take a look at the “Beast’s Castle” that everyone is looking forward to in the park. It is located in the “New Fantasyland” park. After passing through the village where Belle lives, you can see this 30-meter-high castle, which is also the European castle in the story of Beauty and the Beast. The pink exterior is full of girlish heart.

The entire Pink Castle is the venue for the “Beauty and the Beast Magic Story” amusement facilities. To enter, it is not to purchase the “Disney Primier Access” or draw a free “Standby Pass”, but to queue up on the spot (starting from 1.5 hours!). Don’t look at the picture above and think that there is no need to queue, because I entered that day in the morning, the facilities suddenly closed, and reopened around 11:00, so this no-person photo was taken when the facilities were closed, so it can be so empty.

At around 10:50, I opened the Disney official app again and saw that the park was open, but the 3-hour Disney Primier Access entry period was already fully booked, so I decided to queue up at the gate. The picture above was taken at 11:00 at the entrance (you can take pictures freely at the entrance even if you don’t take the rides!).

Because it takes 1.5 hours to line up, there are quite a lot of people, so it starts from the wall outside the facility entrance, and you can see the scenery of the wild hills and broken carriages that Belle passed through on her way to the castle.

Seeing the sign of “Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast”, we officially entered the gate! Another highlight here is the mountain behind the castle, which looks ethereal and is also a scenic spot!

As the team entered the bridge leading to the castle, eerie music was played along the way, just like when Belle fell into the horror forest and the feeling of terror when entering the castle.

The huge stone and fog under the bridge also create a feeling of a castle towering in the mysterious place, and the atmosphere should be even more if it comes at night.

After officially crossing the bridge, it is the most correct angle to take photos of the pink castle.

You can also see the waterfall on the right side, and you will pass through it when leaving the castle later.

Although the pink castle is dreamy, it is still a castle inhabited by wild beasts, so there will be monsters!

Enter the castle, in the corridor you can take photos of the pink castle from different angles, even the statues are carved wild beasts!

Seeing this wild beast door handle is almost like entering the castle!

The lobby of the castle is not that large and you can see from the picture below how easy it is to get cramped. However, the interior appears to be exactly what’s described in the movie, with a low ceiling made of dark wood panels and deep purple plasters on the wall.

Little gimmicks of the characters stand by throughout the hall. I specifically love the intricate tapestries! Gorgeous!

Although we are still in line, there are many scenes from the animation, let’s follow Belle and feel the mood of the first visit to the Beast’s castle together!

When looking into the corner of the fireplace, one can find Mr. Candle and Mr. Clock.

When passing through this corridor, don’t forget to look at the chairs, there will be surprises!

Mrs. Teapot and Archie, there are Easter eggs here too, don’t just pass by!

Next, come to the beautiful armor area.

This armor is very insecure!

Next, stepping into the main hall, the story of Belle and the Beast meeting officially began. Here, Poppy was very surprised, because I always thought that Belle and the Beast were real. Disney Park’s technology has finally progressed to the point where hair, expressions, and movements are the same as real people!

After listening to the conversation between Mrs. Teapot and Aqi, it’s almost time to enter the facility!

As soon as you pass the main hall, you will enter the “Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast” ride, where the game room is located. In this room, there are rotating cups that “dance” in rhythm to the original soundtrack from Beauty and the Beast. Each cup can accommodate up to ten people across two rows.

As the song “Be Our Guest” begins, your own Beauty and the Beast adventure begins. You will be transported through enchanting scenes as the hall transforms into an animated story, depicting key moments that unfold throughout the tale.

The ride ends with the kiss of Beauty and the Beast before he converts back into a real prince.

Before leaving, you can take a picture of the pink castle from another angle.

In addition to the above facilities, there is a “Fantasyland Forest Theatre” deep in the forest, which is the first indoor theater of Tokyo Disney Resort and has a very forest-like appearance.

The theater can enjoy Mickey and his friends’ live performance with the theme of “Journey in the Music World”. The opening song is “Mickey Magical Music World”, and the Japanese version Soundtrack is also released online. The music is Disney’s classic music (such as Beauty and the Beast) reinterpreted in the form of singing and dancing. The story focuses on Mickey and his friends’ journey in Disney and Pixar’s movie clips. We can look forward to it.
